Established in 2011, Hellas Engineering has become a leading Engineering firm specializing in Building Structural Investigations & Restoration. At the forefront of Hellas Engineering is our Founder and Principal Engineer, Louie Kokkoris. Louie brings nearly two decades of engineering experience and a visionary approach to the realm of structural investigations and building restorations.

In appreciation of his Greek heritage and the significant role it played in his personal development, Louie sought to give back to his community. Combining his passion for sports and his desire to make a difference, he and Hellas sponsored jerseys for a local ice hockey team in Athens. This initiative not only boosted the team’s morale, but also reinforced the values of unity and pride that we hold dear at Hellas.
Going a step further, Louie recognized the challenges faced by many budding athletes due to a lack of equipment. To address this, he launched a campaign to collect equipment donations from friends and family in Canada and arranged for them to be shipped to Athens. This act of generosity not only supported local teams but also reflected the broader values of Hellas Engineering, bridging international gaps and strengthening community bonds.

With over 18 years of engineering experience, Louie is an expert in building structural investigation, restoration, waterproofing and roofing. His excellent organization and communication skills are an asset on repair projects. As President of Hellas Engineering, Louie has shown the ability to coordinate multi-million-dollar restoration projects, oversee multiple projects simultaneously, and correspond with property managers and condominium association board members. Throughout the construction process, he diligently works with employees, vendors, and clients to make sure each project runs smoothly.
Louie graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering majoring in Structural Engineering from Concordia University in Montreal, Canada. He’s a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Florida, and serves as a Certified Special/Threshold Inspector specifically for the structural inspection and restoration of high-rise buildings in Florida
Kevin is our senior building inspector. He has over 30 years of experience in construction and has been a licensed building inspector for 15 years. He is a former business owner that understands the importance of attention to details. His communication skills coupled with his extensive knowledge of the many aspects of concrete restoration projects make him a vital member of our team.
Austin Brennan is a Project Engineer at Hellas Engineering. His areas of expertise include structural design, concrete restoration, waterproofing, roofing, and forensic investigation. Building owners rely on Austin to provide engineering services from start to finish of a project, including evaluation, repair or replacement recommendations, preparing detailed construction documents, and serve as a representative during construction to ensure the contractor complies with the design specifications and code requirements, and is only charging the client for work performed. Austin has experience in forensic projects, including building condition assessments, failure investigation and analysis, and evaluating the effectiveness and costs associated with remedial work. Structures assessed and repaired by Austin include commercial office buildings, parking structures, industrial facilities, condominiums, and high-end residential Projects.
Austin graduated with honors with a BS in Civil Engineering from Florida Gulf Coast University. He’s a licensed Professional Engineer in the state of Florida and a highly proficient Project Manager.
Chris Strand is the General Manager of Hellas Engineering. He is responsible for a wide range of administrative duties including, but not limited to, preparation of bid documents, contractor bidding, contract reviews, permit documents, permitting, contractor invoice review, and invoice processing. Chris started at Hellas 7 years ago with 8 years experience with similar duties at another firm and 21 years as owner/operator of an Association Management firm. He brings project management experience as well as an understanding of Association needs and requirements.
Larissa Brennan is a licensed community association manager in the state of Florida. She has sixteen years of experience overseeing many condominium and commercial building restoration projects. She is currently enrolled in college, obtaining her bachelor’s degree, and is studying to become certified in AutoCAD. Larissa is an integral part of our company. She prepares our inspection reports for the different municipalities and assists our engineers and licensed inspectors on building investigations. She brings her dynamic communication skills and eye for restorative field issues to Hellas Engineering.
Chris is a building inspector at Hellas Engineering. His experience in construction dates back to when he was 17 working on high-rise buildings in Manhattan. He has over 20 years of experience working as a superintendent and project managing restoration and renovation projects of high-end resorts throughout Florida. He brings his extensive knowledge of building construction to Hellas Engineering, knowledge which extends to multiple disciplines including structural, electrical and HVAC.
